(Random Thoughts and Tim's Daily World):

Today I repeat one of my favorite of the past LOVE WORKS.
Not because it is a wonderful work of editorial journalism,
but because it actually inspired SO MANY to STAND UP and DO
SOMETHING.

I can sit and type all I want, and you can read,  but
if we could make just the smallest difference in the world
we live in it would all be worth it.

I still see emails with "Love Works" at the end, and little signs
and notes around.  I still have a big sign in the back window
of my car.  And you know,  almost no one asks me about it...
but every once in a while they do.

I hope you'll take the time to read "The LOVE WORKS PROJECT"
and consider doing something...and when you do...we'd all love
to hear about it, if you care to share.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

Today's message is one of the simplest that I have ever written,
yet one that takes action.

Action on my part,  and your part.

Yes, YOU!

Action on the part of anyone that reads this.

So here it is.....(and please read it all the way down)

Do you believe that the world is filled with too much
hatred and anger?

Do you have a problem with wars fought for money and
political motivation?  Do you have a problem with wars in
general?

Do you have a problem with violence and abuse toward
children?

Do you have a problem with racial violence?

Do you think that people are just not very "nice" to each other?

Do you find that animals and the earth are not treated with
the respect and dignity and love that we reserve for human beings?

Do you find yourself concerned by the staggering numbers of
divorces and broken homes?

Do you think that there must be a solution to ever growing
drug addiction and homelessness?

Have you ever thought life would be alot easier if people just
got along?

Do you find yourselve ever so isolated by the continual building
of cubicles and apartments and fences and departments and
sections and chat rooms and denominations designed to keep us apart
rather that bring us together?

Have you ever just wanted to walk up and give someone a hug,
and hesitated or didn't so it at all because of what a neighbor,
or co-worker, or spouse, or family member might think?

Do you really believe religion, no matter what religion, should
be based on a primary principle of LOVE? And that blowing things up,
burning things down,  and converting people by force completely
misses the point?

Have you ever been afraid to tell someone you love that you love them?

Has LOVE become, somehow, a bad word in the world?

Do you get fed up with the news being filled with death
and violence and strife?

Would you like to make a difference?

Don't you believe that HATE kills...and LOVE works?

If some or most of the above questions are
things that you have thought to yourself....

I'm asking you to do a something TODAY....

YES....TODAY!

I want you to take a piece of paper and write the words
LOVE WORKS in bold letters and post it where most people in
your world can see it regularly. (Yes you can use your computer
and print it)

This can be at home,  at work,  at school, in your car window
...any place.....

LOVE WORKS in bold letters and post it!

Just do it!

Yeah, people may ask.....

And you can answer it simply that you're making a statement
to support peace and love on earth in troubling times....

And that's all there is too it....

 

...OR

You may have the opportunity to have a have a meaningful conversation
about how LOVE works in your life and what it really means to you.

If they are really interested in WHY you posted your sign...and want
to join us in making LOVE WORK DAILY...

Give 'em the sign up information.....or if they don't have the net...
maybe print a LOVE WORKS out every once in a while....mail it to
someone (remember STAMPS and the POST OFFICE?)...people love to get
love notes in the mail.....or just give one to a friend...or a stranger....

If you know someone that will not SEE your SIGN because they live far
away....forward them one or more of your favorite LOVE WORKS.

Heck,  just send someone an email with the words....LOVE WORKS!
See what they write back?  Who Knows?

I am actually not asking for that much at all.....

But I am asking for some LOVE IN ACTION from you today.

TODAY!

I want each and every one of you to put the words LOVE WORKS on
a paper....and post it someplace. A big paper or a small paper...
doesn't matter....

But that's All You Gotta Do....

If you wanna take it further, cool....

I want to let at as many people as you can see
the words LOVE WORKS today as we can....

They don't have to join the list (even though we are now
nearly 10 times larger than we were in 2002! and I'd love to
keep us growing), all I'm asking is.....

PUT UP YOUR SIGN....Keep it up as long as you can!

BE PROUD!

LOVE WORKS and YOU KNOW IT!

I'm gonna stop writing now and put up my sign...

Just I have a final little thing to share....

Comedian Bill Engvall, one of the guys on BLUE COLLAR TV
and the BLUE COLLAR COMEDY TOUR, has a running joke.
It's Engvall's opinion that the dullard community
 should have to wear signs saying "I'm stupid," as in:

"Couple months ago I went fishin' with this buddy
of mine. We pull the boat into the dock,
and I lift up this big ole string of bass.
This idiot on the dock goes, 'Hey! You catch all them fish?'

"Nope. Talked 'em into giving up. . . . Here's your sign."

Now we've got a new twist....

Next time you meet some one who is not just quite making it,
or getting it,  or finding it,  or figuring it out.  Next time
you meet someone that is angry or lost or confused.

Say..."hey, buddy,  Here's Your Sign! - LOVE WORKS!!!"

 

Love In Thought! Love In Word! Love In Action!

Love To You Today!

 

"May we endeavor today to increase our understanding and appreciation of
what others have given and contributed to us. And develop constant,
mindful consideration of how our thoughts and actions will BENIFICIALLY
CONTRIBUTE to others"

The best to you today in discovering the answers to life's difficult
questions!

 

A Final Thought:

Love is always the right thing to do. Even if it isn't the easiest
thing to do.

May we have compassion for the struggles of others, wisdom to
acknowledge our own, and courage to address them both every day.
